Natural Fiber Fabrics: The ZAVATE List Every Client Can Choose From

Many men face the dilemma of choosing the right fabrics for their wardrobe. Often, information about natural fiber materials is scattered, and clients feel overwhelmed by the wide variety available on the market. This can create confusion when they want to invest in timeless, high-quality pieces.

This article aims to present a list of the most popular natural fiber fabrics from ZAVATE’s permanent collection. You will discover animal-based fabrics such as wool, cashmere, mohair, and natural silk, alongside plant-based alternatives like cotton and linen. This way, every client can easily select the material that best suits their style and needs.

Wool

Sheep’s wool fabrics enjoy consistent popularity among men seeking quality. Wool has a greater mass than other textiles, making it excellent for thermal insulation, durability, and wearability. It is the most widespread animal fiber worldwide, produced in over a hundred countries. Depending on the region, luxury varieties have emerged, such as alpaca wool (from the Peruvian llama) or Angora rabbit wool. Two-thirds of the wool produced globally is used in the clothing industry, so it’s no surprise that wool is among the options in the ZAVATE collection. Our Zero (image 1), Z1, and Capsule Wardrobe collections are based almost exclusively on wool. Mixed with other natural or synthetic fibers, wool gains elasticity and crease resistance.
Ideal Wool Garments: Two- or three-piece suits, overcoats, and coats.

Cashmere

Cashmere is a luxury choice for men’s wardrobes. The only source of cashmere is the cashmere goat, which lives in the Himalayan region. This fiber has a natural crimp that allows it to be spun into fine and lightweight fabrics. Small gaps between the fibers give cashmere warmth without weight. The fiber’s cuticle surface gives it a smooth, glossy appearance. Cashmere is a luxurious material: the annual production from six goats is enough to make a single sport jacket.
Ideal Cashmere Garments: Blazers, coats, cardigans, and turtlenecks.

Mohair

Mohair is another animal-derived fiber, obtained from goats in South America and Texas. This fabric is lightweight and insulating, with tensile strength exceeding that of merino wool. Like wool, mohair has scales on its surface, but they are finer, giving it a glossy appearance and a soft feel. Mohair absorbs moisture well, is durable, and resists creasing. Many producers blend mohair with wool for added comfort and durability.
Ideal Mohair Garments: Trousers, scarves, and mufflers.

Silk

Natural silk is a fiber obtained from silkworms in the form of long, thin filaments. In woven silk, the triangular fiber structure acts like a prism, reflecting light and giving it a natural shine. Silk has high absorbency and thermal conductivity and is easy to dye. Major sericulture centers are located in Asia, where the ancient “Silk Road” originated. The great advantage of silk is that it provides coolness in warm weather and warmth in cooler conditions.
Ideal Silk Garments: Linings, ties, pocket squares, and underwear.

Cotton

Cotton, a cellulose polymer, is renowned for its softness and breathability. It absorbs moisture and is easy to maintain due to its high tensile strength in soapy solutions. These qualities have made it the most popular natural fiber worldwide. Denim is made from cotton, and jeans come from denim.
Ideal Cotton Garments: Shirts, T-shirts, chinos, and jeans.

Linen

Linen is also a cellulose polymer, but its crystalline structure makes it prone to wrinkling. It absorbs and releases moisture quickly, making it comfortable in warm weather. The legendary linen suit, originating from the Mediterranean, became a symbol of masculine elegance when temperatures rise (image 2). Linen was the star fabric of our Z1 collection (among others), which you can view HERE.
Ideal Linen Garments: Shirts, blazers, and summer trousers.

In addition to these materials, other plant-based fabrics such as hemp, jute, ramie, and sisal are used at ZAVATE for various inserts and reinforcements in the anatomy of any high-quality suit. They strengthen garments, giving them shape and durability.

As you can see, ZAVATE’s offering includes a diverse palette of natural fiber fabrics of both animal and plant origin. Wool, cashmere, mohair, and silk stand out for comfort, durability, and refined appearance, while cotton and linen complete the selection for summer days. This variety allows our clients to choose the perfect material for any occasion, ensuring modern, comfortable, and high-quality pieces.
